London’s only remaining Bandstand in a residential square, located in Islington, has been restored thanks to City University London. At an opening event held on Saturday 9 July 2011, the bandstand in Northampton Square, EC1 was officially re-opened by The Worshipful the Mayor of Islington, Councillor Phil Kelly and City University London’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Curran.
